About

The Editorial Team SDG7 – Affordable and Clean Energy at Global Society News (GSN) reports on the global transition towards sustainable, reliable, and modern energy systems. The team brings together journalists, researchers, and policy specialists who examine energy access, renewable technologies, and the economic and environmental changes needed for a carbon-neutral future.

Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) – Affordable and Clean Energy, established under the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, aims to ensure universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy. It promotes renewable energy investment, improved efficiency, and infrastructure expansion, especially in regions where energy poverty limits development.

Energy powers industry, education, healthcare, and economic opportunity. Although access to electricity and renewable capacity have grown significantly, many communities still lack reliable power or depend on polluting fuels for cooking and heating, creating health risks and contributing to greenhouse gas emissions.

The Editorial Team SDG7 at GSN examines these challenges through data-driven journalism and collaboration with energy experts, scientists, and international organisations. Its reporting covers renewable energy innovation, storage technologies, public-private partnerships, community solar initiatives, and policies that support just and inclusive energy transitions.

Aligned with the vision of IRENA and the United Nations energy framework, the Editorial Team SDG7 highlights practical solutions for decarbonisation, energy access, and green innovation. By advancing the message of “Affordable and Clean Energy”, the team reaffirms that sustainable energy is essential for fairer, cleaner, and more resilient societies.
