About
At Global Society News (GSN), the Editorial Team SDG12 – Responsible Consumption and Production examines how societies, industries, and individuals can change the way goods and resources are produced and consumed. The team brings together journalists, environmental economists, and sustainability specialists who analyse policies, systems, and innovations that reduce waste, improve efficiency, and support ethical circular economies.
Sustainable Development Goal 12 (SDG12) – Responsible Consumption and Production, established under the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, promotes the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources. It encourages businesses, governments, and consumers to reduce pollution, increase recycling, support circularity, and adopt practices that balance environmental responsibility with economic and social needs.
Current patterns of consumption and production remain central to many environmental challenges, including resource depletion, plastic pollution, and food waste. At the same time, progress is emerging through renewable energy, sustainable packaging, transparent supply chains, and circular production models that reflect a growing commitment to responsibility and innovation.
The Editorial Team SDG12 at GSN reports on these developments through data-informed journalism, research analysis, and collaboration with experts in sustainable industry, green design, and consumer behaviour. Its work highlights circular economy strategies, sustainable supply chains, eco-innovation, responsible business models, and the links between consumption, energy use, and climate change.
