About

The Editorial Team SDG8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth at Global Society News (GSN) examines how inclusive employment and sustainable economic growth contribute to prosperity, dignity, and human well-being. The team brings together economists, journalists, and policy experts who explore the links between innovation, equality, fair work, and responsible business practices.

Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG8) – Decent Work and Economic Growth, established under the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, promotes sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all. It also supports entrepreneurship, economic diversification, technological innovation, labour rights, and fairer distribution of productivity gains.

Global growth has helped reduce poverty, create jobs, and expand entrepreneurship. Yet inequality, insecure employment, low wages, and limited opportunities remain serious challenges. Automation, digital transformation, and the green transition are reshaping the world of work, requiring policies that combine competitiveness with social protection and environmental responsibility.

The Editorial Team SDG8 at GSN reports on these developments through economic analysis, rigorous journalism, and collaboration with development agencies, trade unions, and research institutions. Its work highlights decent work policies, sustainable enterprises, youth and women’s employment, circular economy models, impact investing, and inclusive business ecosystems.

Aligned with the principles of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the wider United Nations agenda, the Editorial Team SDG8 promotes responsible globalisation, ethical labour practices, and social dialogue. By advancing the message of “Decent Work and Economic Growth”, the team reaffirms that economic development must serve people first and create progress that is meaningful in human lives.
